Apply to be a pattern tester

Are you ready to rock ‘n’ roll as a “Royal Stitcher” for Queenie Crochet?! I’m super excited to design quality patterns and would love to have you on the testing team! At this time there isn’t much call for testers, but I will reach out when I have more patterns available!

What does the ideal pattern tester look like? Well, each designer/tester relationship is different, so despite your previous testing experience, MY ideal tester looks something like this:

-Love fiber arts, duh! (knitting, crocheting, or both!)

-Ability to form strong opinions and be willing to share those honestly

-Commit to completing a project and be able to meet deadlines

-Communicate candidly throughout the testing process

-Provide feedback about the quality of the final product and pattern testing experience

-Be willing to post on social networks as pattern release date draws near

-Feel confident in using technology to communicate, including Direct Messaging, e-mail, and video chat

Does this sound like you?? Then keep reading!
Here’s a few things that are NOT required:

-a specific level of experience in knitting or crocheting. Several patterns are written for brand new fiber artists, so being a beginner might work out to your advantage

-a huge following on any social network platform. Your social media feed (Instagram, Ravelry, and/or Facebook) are mainly taken into consideration as your portfolio, and a representation of your work and photography product. The size of your following is not as relevant-any experience testing patterns before

You still with me? Awesome! My mission is to build a pool of testers who are committed to the final projects. I want you to feel your contributions matter, and to be as excited about the pattern as I am! If you don’t love it, that’s important information! Getting “it’s all good” as feedback is not good enough. I need you to be CRITICAL! (I mean, don’t be a troll, but still your honest assessment won’t hurt my feelings. LOL)

What’s in it for you?

-An awesome pattern!

-Promotion of your work on social network platforms

-Your name listed as a tester in the final pattern

-A finished object you can sell for $, give away, or keep for yourself

So, what happens next?

The next step is for you to fill out a short application. The application can be found HERE

Once you submit it, I’ll make an appointment to contact you via video chat so I can get to know you a bit better, and discuss my process more in detail as well as answer any questions you have. (Unless you live down the street, then lets grab a tea together and chat!) After that, keep your eyes open for an email with pattern testing opportunities. It will include basic information about the pattern and a photo for you to decide if you’d like to participate! (I hope you do!)

Thanks again and I can’t wait to work with you!

Now for the “nitty gritty” stuff:
By agreeing to test patterns for Queenie Crochet LLC, you agree to the following:
– I agree to participate in a “getting to know you” session with the designer via video chat

– I will carefully follow the pattern given, not deviating or adjusting unless previously discussed with the designer

– I will keep the designer informed on progress regularly, especially any problems or questions encountered

– I will complete the pattern and share notes on it with the designer by the agreed deadline

– I give Queenie Crochet LLC permission to use photos of the project submitted for any or all advertising, promotion, as well as in the final pattern

– I agree to cross post photos of the project (either in progress, finished, or both) on my public Instagram account, especially as the release date draws near

– I will create a project page on Ravelry for any pattern I test

– I agree not to sell or replicate the pattern
