Join our Winter Make A Long!

It’s time to STEEK! Spend hours on a project just to cut it up. Sounds fun right? 🙂

Join me as we steek together this winter! Has the idea of steeking always been a little daunting? Or are you a veteran “project cutter” who can give the group guidance? Or just a fan of trying something new?

Pick out your project and join me for the Cast On party Saturday, November 13 from 2 – 5pm CST. Want the link? Fill out the form below or join our Make A Long facebook group.

Our first project will be a group project: Steek This Coffee Cozy by Rachel Molenaar. This free pattern is available on Ravelry, can be found here. After that first boost of confidence, move on to a larger project of your choosing! There are thousands of knit patterns on Ravelry that you can search and even a few crochet projects to steek!!

Make A Long will officially kick off November 13, and will end with a cast off virtual party on Jan 2, 2022!

Fill out the form below to get the party link! See you November 13!

Have you steeked a project before?

CELEBRATE OUR 2 YEAR ANNIVERSARY! Check out what’s new!

CELEBRATING Queenie Crochet Yarn’s 2 year anniversary, November 19 – 22, 2020

Hard to believe 2 years have flown by since the first time I put dye, water, and yarn together. There has been a lot of learning and a lot of good times in the past 2 years. It definitely could not have happened without the support of SO many of you!

So, let’s celebrate! First, I’m excited to announce TWO brand new permanent bases to our line up! A brand new DK base of 75% Superwash Merino, 25% Mulberry Silk. IT IS SO SOFT!! And the colors just GLOW! I cannot wait to see how each and every colorway dyes up on this stunning base!

What about our previous “heavy” DK base? It is now renamed Queenie’s WORSTED! That’s right, a proper worsted weight yarn!! If you’re wondering which one you have, the Queenie’s Worsted (formerly DK) is 218 yards per 100 grams. 😉 If you have any questions, I’m always happy to help!

And the other new base? An AMAZING SUPER BULKY!! It’s 3-ply, 100% Andean Highland Wool (non-superwash) and SO warm! There’s 44 yards per 100 grams. Definitely something you have to see to believe!

This weekend we are also releasing the Cupcake Cap crochet pattern AND kits! Using our newest worsted weight yarn, this cap is the “sweetest treat”! Find the link for the pattern here, and the kit here.

There is definitely a LOT to celebrate this weekend. Follow us on Instagram for more updates and surprises this weekend!!

Hugs to each and every one of you!!

Queenie

Have you heard the news? Queenie Crochet has a new permanent home! Want to check it out?

Queenie Crochet Headquarters (sounds super fancy, right?) has recently moved a new permanent home… aka NO LONGER IN A KITCHEN! We are busy renovating a former 2-car garage space into a brand new dye studio! We have defined phases to complete the work, so it won’t be finished for… well, probably a few years, honestly, BUT phase 1 is off to a great start! Electricity has been wired up and equipment for a basic set up is ordered. The goal is to be up and running (as in, actually dyeing) in the next week… just in time because something AWESOME is happening then!!

There is a lot of updates and changes to Queenie Crochet coming over the next few months so be sure to sign up for our newly resurrected newsletter, and follow us on Instagram for ALL the news. Basically, more awesome indie-dyed yarn, new bases, sales, and a brand new sponsorship program.

Future dye studio before the transformation
Sealing the walls and preparing for paint.

Thank you for following along and supporting this journey! Looking forward to sharing more about this space with you soon!
